What we hold, and why

This notice covers every page on this site that asks for your details. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it in plain terms.

Who is running this

BoardingMatch is an independent UK project. We are the data controller for everything described here. Reach us at admissions@boardingmatch.com.

If you join the early access list

What we collect
Your name, your email address, your school name and your role. If you answer the optional questions, we also hold your answers to them.
Why we collect it
So we can tell you when the pilot opens, and so we can understand what schools actually need before we build it. That is the only purpose.
Who sees it
One person on our side. We do not sell it, share it with other schools, or pass it to an agent or consultant.
How long we keep it
Until the pilot opens, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Ask and it goes the same day.
Where it is stored
In our own database. Like any website, the hosting provider processes data to run the site. We do not use advertising or tracking networks.

If you are a family on the platform

A student uploads a school report so their grades can be read. That document belongs to the family, and the family decides who sees it. A school only sees the profile of a student it has matched with, and only after the student accepts an introduction. Families can delete their upload at any point, and deleting it removes the document.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or give you a copy. Email us and we will action it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
